I wanted to share a little bit with you of how we came about. The Market Street Mission in Morristown, NJ has been providing counseling services to men in our recovery program, along with their families, for many years. Over three years ago we decided to offer our professional counseling services to people outside the mission who may be in need of seeing a counselor. Today, we are seeing over 30 people every week who present any number of mental conflicts or emotional struggles. Our counseling staff are professionally trained and educated with countless hours of hands-on experience. They have been well-prepared to come alongside people, walk with them through their conflict, pain or uncertainty, and work toward a resolution.
We selected the name Beacon on Bank St. because we believe it fits perfectly with who we are and what we believe. The dictionary definition of the word ‘beacon’ is “a light or other visible object serving as a signal, warning, or guide at sea, on an airfield, etc.” When life folds in on you, when you find yourself in the midst of a crisis, when fear and uncertainty seem to inundate nearly every moment of your day, you need something to guide you out of that storm and into safety. There may be seasons on your journey when inescapable darkness causes you to lose your way. It is at those times when a ‘beacon of light’ will provide much needed direction. We truly believe that we can provide you that kind of counsel, care and guidance, a beacon, that will help you find your way again.
As for ‘Bank St.’, that is our location; conveniently located at 10 Bank St. in Morristown. We are just a half a block’s walk to the Green, a very welcoming place to breath some fresh air, reflect and relax.
Thank you for visiting Beacon on Bank St. here on our website. We do hope will take the next step and either give us a call or shoot us an email. We are looking forward to hearing from you.
